Hamilton Chinese Alliance Church has been serving the community for 40 years. We have three congregations in two services – Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and English Service. We are part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. Currently, we are looking for a full-time English pastor on a contract basis for our small but vibrant English congregation.
Objectives:
- To provide pastoral care and shepherding through biblical teaching and counseling of young people.
- To grow the ministry through local outreach and personal evangelism
Role and Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the chair, Board of Elders
- Provide vision, direction and implementation of English ministry
- Plan and lead the overall English ministries with the English Core Team
- Regular preaching on Sundays (2 to 3 times a month)
- Plan, and prepare biblical teaching through Sunday school and fellowships
- Intentionally and regularly meet with young people one to one for discipleship, mentoring and evangelism
- Participate and assist in church-wide ministries as required
Experience and Education
- Theological Education required, M.Div is preferred
- Ministry experience in English or youth ministry is an asset
Spiritual Qualifications
Candidate must be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, with a godly character according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
- Genuinely humble and teachable
- Able to work as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized
