Praise our Lord, Oakville Chinese Alliance Church successfully hold our first baptism ceremony and Sunday worship on September 4, 2016! A senior couple smoothly completed their testimony and baptism! Praise our Lord for leading our Hymn Praising, Holly communion, scriptures-reading, sermon-preaching, offering , family reports and blessing, all these worship activities, successfully! After the worship, there was a very good communication and lunch time for everyone!
As one of the church planting projects supported by CMA Central District and CCACA, our church started the first worship on October 18, 2015 as Oakville Branch of Mississauga Carmel Mandarin Alliance Church and became Oakville Chinese Alliance Church under CMA Central District leadership and supervision on June 1, 2016.
Praise the Lord, in less than one year, there have been three brothers and sisters baptized in April, when we were still the Oakville branch of our mother church, and a couple completed their testimony and baptism on September 4. There have been more than twenty brothers and sisters transferred their membership and find their new spiritual home in our church. What’s more, there were eight people committed to Jesus Christ (two of them just got baptized) in our first evangelistic meeting on June 11 and following Sunday. Moreover, God also keeps leading new comers to us and there were already one hundred new families or individuals visited our church by the end of August. This not only confirms the great need of Oakville Chinese Community field, but also strengthens our faith and calling from our God to plant a new church in this city!
Currently, the numbers of church Sunday service congregation members have been steadily rising back to around seventy people after the summer seasons. Our church prayer meetings, Sunday School, Sunday worship and fellowship group is also growing steadily. Especially, we recently started discipleship training in our prayer meeting on Thursday night and there have been about fifteen brothers and sisters participating in the study and prayer meeting in the last two weeks. There, we are united as one and humbly serve one another, praying for the need of our church growth and of our congregation members. Not only we offer our sincere prayers to our Lord, but also it builds a solid foundation for the development of our church!
Reviewing what we have gone through in the past one year, the church experienced God’s amazing grace and mighty all the way! We are really very grateful!
Facing the fast growth of Chinese community in Oakville city and their need for Gospel, please continue to pray for us:
- Pray for the Oakville city to be a good gospel field. May our God lead and use the brothers and sisters in our church to share gospel and witness the grace from our Lord.
- Pray for a pastor to shepherd and lead the congregation members. Also, pray for an intern or co-worker to lead our youth ministry for teenagers.
- Pray for the evangelistic activities, fellowship groups, prayer meetings, children and adult Sunday school teachers. May our Lord motivate and lead more brothers and sisters to service Him and serve one another.
May the Lord continue to lead us to serve Him with a pure heart and clean hands!
